In Ref. 7 the nonpropagating phason modes are considered as not frozen at low temperature. This approach results in a slight increase of the acoustic-mode contribution to the vibrational density of states at low frequencies if the phonon-phason coupling is taken into account. But in our opinion this effect is too weak to explain the value of the vibrational part of the low-temperature heat capacity. Moreover, according to all experimental results known to us the collective phason modes at low temperature are frozen and the corresponding phason kinetic coefficient should tend to zero.
