28. Fe-pillared bentonite clay (Fe-PILC) was prepared as reported in E.G. Rightor, M.S. Tzou, and T.J. Pinnavaia J. Catal. 130 1991 29 40
29. 3 solution (2 × 10 mL) and water (10 mL). The combined organic phases were dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude mixture was recrystallized from dichloromethane/pentane to give sulfone 3a (88% yield) as a white solid. All the compounds prepared are well known and were identified using spectral and physical data
