4. The success of the feminist movement is not a necessary precondition for the establishment of egalitarian gender principles, however, as Mosesdottier (1995) argues. These principles can also be integrated as general interests into male dominated policies of the state. In this case, it is less necessary for women to mobilise as a feminist movement, if they want to gain gender equality.
