Interestingly, Rem Koolhaas has now been asked to work on the master plan for Universal City, and is at the same time preparing plans for the city of Hanoi in Cambodia. In this scenario, the question of which is leading the way forward and what is the model for what inevitably arises. Koolhaas himself is beginning to talk of a 'new authenticity', especially with respect to Asia, an authenticity born of what he calls a 'Photoshop paradigm' of urbanism, which for him represents one of the new software tools responsible for facilitating the easy digital reconfiguring of the city's image and its new existence as a physical entity
