1. 1The agreement announced in November 2000 included a package of loans totaling $20 billion: $6.7 billion from the IMF, $2.4 billion from the World Bank and the Interamerican Development Bank, $1 billion from the government of Spain, and a promise of another $10 billion from private financial institutions. In the August 2001 agreement the IMF provided Argentina an additional $8 billion ($5 billion immediately and $3 billion contingent on policy performance).
