    • Since its 1996 edition the Particle Data Group decided not to use the experimental limits on the electron neutrino mass coming from the tritium beta decay experiments due to the difficulty in interpreting the significant negative square mass values in many of these experiments. Their evaluation of the (Formula presented) limit is dominated by the SN 1987A data. Nevertheless a more stringent limit has been obtained by the Troitsk tritium decay experiment in Phys. Lett. B 350, 263 (1995).
