    • A Stark ball device has been developed [K.B. MacAdam and C.S. Hwang, Rev. Sci. Instrum. 74, 2267 (2003)]. The device can provide confinement for the molecules in three dimensions in a large volume of homogeneous or zero electric field. This device is ideal for our purpose. It uses 16 electrostatic rods organized in spherical symmetry and with versatile electronics control of electric field profiles.
