Bmj. 2017;358:j3418.•• This recent study is of importance to the review due to its debate of the antibiotic course, which is supportive of using rapid testing to rule-out bacterial infections and shorten antibiotic prescriptions such that the patient does not have to take unnecessary antibiotics and possibly perpetrate antibiotic resistance.
