    • These mutations may result from a variety of reasons, but the most important ones seem to be incomplete basic reactions (caused by inappropriate selection of reaction conditions that affect their kinetic parameters), inadequate reaction mixture compositions (that affect their thermodynamic parameters), side reactions (such as retro‐Michael elimination as the most prominent one) and steric hindrances. Insufficient excesses of EDA monomer in amidation of carbomethoxy precursors, for example, would favor the loop formation by increasing statistical probability for more amino groups to participate in this reaction.
