16. An approved centre is any organization approved by an awarding body to offer NVQs or component units. An awarding body is a body approved by the National Council for Vocational Qualifications for assessment, quality assurance and certification of NVQs. Assessors are persons who are qualified to carry out assessment in approved organizations.
17. An internal verifier provides help and support to, and identifies appropriate training for, assessors, as well as contributing to and monitoring quality control more generally within an approved centre.
