    • Since no terminally substituted 1,3‐dienes had been studied earlier only 1,4‐additions were known for a long time. This occasionally led to the inaccurate conclusion that conjugated dienes undergo only 1,4‐additions, irrespective of their structure [3 f]. This hypothesis is no longer tenable according to [48, 49].
