This study highlights particular barriers to those affected by diabetes in rural areas, and offers self-management interventions including telehealth options. Further, this study emphasizes the need for collaborative goal setting in management of those affected with diabetes. Researchers may be able to use these options in developing effective smoking cessation interventions in those affected by diabetes.
