    • The idea of detecting the type of a control packet based on the duration of the signal on the medium has also been suggested in Li et al. (2001) for the sole purpose of setting the NAV, while power control and spatial reusability have not been considered. Nevertheless, it is shown in Li et al. (2001) that a node in the C-Zone can determine, with high probability, the type of the transmitted packet based either on the physical layer header or the total time a signal is sensed in the wireless medium. This serves the further validate our claim.
