    • While it is difficult to verify from the published reports of the architectural remains that Tell Amarna has an uninterrupted stratigraphic sequence from the Early to the Middle Bronze Age, this is clearly borne out by the pottery from the site, which has been carefully studied by Nina Pons 2001. In particular, the pottery of Phase III in Area A possesses some of the same "transitional EB-MB" forms as exist at other Euphrates sites. Moreover, the author's research on Middle Bronze Age tombs at the site has conirmed the existence of a well-developed MB assemblage at Amarna. In summary, Tell Amarna's pottery assemblage comprises all periods under scrutiny in this investigation EB IV, EB-MB, MB and thus supports the premise of settlement continuity
