    • Waxoline Blue is the commercial name used by ICI for 1,4-bis- (isopro- pylamino)-anthroquinone, It is an oil soluble dye which shows no oil-water surface activity, as measured by the pendant drop method. We have also found that no detectable amount of the dye is present in water that has been in contact with Waxoline Blue crystals. In addition, interfacial tension measurements in the presence and absence of Waxoline Blue in the oil phase showed no surface active effects from the dye under the condi- tions used in these experiments.
