2. Analyis is based on data from "Monitoring" surveys conducted by the Levada Center (known as VTsIOM before fall 2003). "Monitoring" is an omnibus-type survey ensuring the most reliable data. It is conducted every two months on a sample of the urban and rural population of Russia. Two thousand one hundred respondents aged 16-plus are interviewed on a representative nationwide sample and 300 persons are interviewed on an additional Moscow sample (overall, 430 interviews are conducted in Moscow).
