Weight loss - There is an app for that! But does it adhere to evidence-informed practices
-
This study is important because it illustrates the lack of empirically validated weight loss strategies in commercial smartphone apps for weight loss, which have been downloaded millions of times. The findings of this paper suggest that partnerships between developers of commercial smartphone applications and academic researchers could be advantageous for producing the most sophisticated and effective weight loss applications
