The BPMN specification uses alternative terms: XOR-splits are exclusive decision gateways, XOR-joins are exclusive merge gateways, OR-splits are inclusive decision gateways, OR-joins are inclusive merge gateways, AND-splits are parallel forking gateways, and AND-joins are parallel joining gateways.
