2. International standards are usually prepared by ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations-governmental and nongovernmental-in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. 11. ISO and CEN can decide on mutual updating of their standards through the so-called Vienna Agreement. This means that one of the two organizations takes the lead-in this case ISO-and executes maintenance and updates of its standard in the usual way. Periodically the other organization accepts the result of that work and implements it as the new standard.
