    • Pickup coil signals detected at the modulation frequency are proportional to ac magnetic susceptibilities for Bâ̂¥c. In the case of Bâ̂¥ab, the coil axis is perpendicular to B since the coil and sample are rotated together with the c axis kept parallel to the coil axis. If the alignment of the sample and coil axis is perfect, no signal will be detected. However, there is small misalignment, which produces small signal proportional to the component of ac magnetization along the coil axis for Bâ̂¥ab.
