12. The original calculation by Salmelin et al. suggested a monotonic increase in a with decreasing T (6, 7). However, our calculation using the same formulation shows a nonmonotonic dependence on T, as shown in Fig. 3B. The origin of this discrepancy between our calculation and theirs is unknown, but our calculation is performed with a finer momentum grid.
13. We have had at least several small aftershocks in a day, which were associated with the 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake on 11 March 2011 (data presented here were taken from January to July 2012).
