It is important to note that because SCAMP recommendations represent the standard of care for patient management, the implementation of a SCAMP is a quality improvement activity that does not involve research. This differs from a clinical trial, in which a specific diagnostic or therapeutic question is asked through a study of a controlled population.

We conducted a survey of 200 SCAMP and 200 non-SCAMP patients or parents of patients in 2011- 12 in the Boston Children's Hospital outpatient cardiology clinic and found no significant difference in satisfaction across fourteen measures of satisfaction. These data are being prepared for publication.
