    • It should be noted that all MCP methods at present implicitly assume that the past is a good prediction of the future. The validity of this assumption is called into question by the possibility of long-period climate oscillations and trends related to global warming. So far, little evidence for any significant changes in wind climate attributable to these phenomena has appeared. Still, the risk cannot be discounted. See Michael C. Brower, AWS Truewind, Impacts of Global Climate Change on Wind Resources: (I) The Historical Case, Presented at the European Wind Energy Conference, London (2004).
