Some caution must be taken in interpretation of measured depletion cross sections in a heterogeneous chemical environment, as multiple factors can influence the measured yields and lead to non-exponential behaviour. In the present case, the depletion yields due to photon flux are well fit by exponential decreases, though this does not exclude the possibility of multiple operant mechanisms
