The full polarization function with its finite imaginary part, which appears in the dispersion equation , has been used to calculate the plasmon spectrum in graphene double-layer structures. However, setting the imaginary part to zero provides a correct behavior in the short-wavelength limit with the convergence of the multilayer plasmon branches toward the single-layer plasmon mode.
