In the first section we prove that the normalized photon correlation function of the output optical field is idential to the normalized intra-cavity optical correlation computed in the Eq. in the main text. In the second section we prove that the photon correlation function always approaches one exponentially, with the decay rate stated in the main text. In the third section we prove that, in the semiclassical picture, the appearance of higher harmonics in the photon correlation function coincides with the start of the self-induced oscillation. Finally in the fourth section, we show that phase fluctuations can qualitatively account for the longtime decay of the photon correlation function in the blue-detuned regime, whereas optomechanical cooling can qualitatively account for the decay in the red-detuned regime.
