Relationship styles and mortality in patients with diabetes
-
Relationship styles play a profound role in health outcomes. In a sample of 3,535 patients, researchers found that a lower propensity to reach out to others for support is associated with higher mortality over a 5 year period. The authors' conclude that relationship style is an important variable in examining mortality and outcomes, and future studies should look at interventions based upon different relational styles
