    • Other/specific recommendations were that: preventive measures are based on scientific understanding of the risk of disease introduction and spread; a precautionary approach be adopted; consideration is given to applying quarantine practices to intra-continental travel; the protected area system and related measures should be used to limit actions which may introduce or spread disease; gateway states should be encouraged to apply agreed procedures; uniform practices should be employed at points of departure, landing, and dispersal to field sites and in the marine environment; and a code of behaviour should be adopted – Australia note 18
