A reviewer suggested the possibility of probe 1 for the monitoring of this Au(I) to Au(III) transition. In fact, after 2 h at 80 °C, there were some changes in the UV-vis spectral behavior of 1, which might be due to the transformed Au(III) species (Figure S3, Supporting Information). We suppose that the selective response of probe 1 toward Au(III), in principle, could be applicable for the monitoring of the progress of the disproportionation of Au(I).
