15. The adjusted estimates were computed using multivariate regression analysis, with patient activation as the dependent variable. Separate equivalent models were estimated for whites, blacks, and Hispanics. The adjusted estimates were computed on the models for blacks and Hispanics, using means for whites on selected variables.
