32. Actually, the steady state is also sufficient as an initial state, since Q 2 = 1. However, for conceptual reasons we use a single photon as the initial state here. In addition, if one uses the steady state as the initial state, and it is very close to the pure ground state, then the violation of the inequality becomes difficult to observe.
