Abrams et al., has been approved by the FDA (as well as the California Research Advisory Panel, the institutional review board of the University of California, and the scientific advisory board of the San Francisco Community Consortium). Unfortunately, the protocol was rejected by the DEA and the National Institute of Drug Abuse.
