1. The Eden Project, near St Austell in Cornwall, has at its centre a series of large greenhouses formed from ethylene tetrafuoroethylene (ETFE) envelopes designed by Grimshaw Architects. The two main biomes within the facility recreate tropical and Mediterranean conditions. The project opened in 2001.
