    • {Ru(phen)3}2+·2Cl- can be obtained in 60% yield in 5 min (185 °C, 200 W max.) when 3 equivalents of phenanthroline are added. This procedure with a microwave closed system is also faster than the one previously developed under microwave irradiation which required at least 20 min refluxing in an open system to give a similar yield
