For a blind rule, the probability of an attempted move in a given direction is computed irrespective of whether the move is actually permitted. Attempted moves that are forbidden are simply aborted, leaving the motile agent in its original location. For a myopic rule, only permitted moves are attempted, and the transition probabilities are appropriately re-weighted to reflect this [21,27].
