STICH Hypothesis 2 Investigators, The Surgical Treatment for Ischemic Heart Failure STICH trial is the first and the largest randomized trial designed to test the hypothesis that LVR combined with CABG improves survival free of subsequent hospitalization for a cardiac cause compared with CABG alone in patients with left ventricle dysfunction. The trial randomized 1000 patients to CABG or CABG + LVR. After a median follow-up of 4 years, the trial demonstrated that there was no overall benefit from adding LVR to CABG
