Optimal medical therapy with or without percutaneous coronary intervention to reduce ischemic burden: Results from the clinical outcomes utilizing revascularization and aggressive drug evaluation (COURAGE) trial nuclear substudy. Circulation. 2008;117:1283-1291. This paper reports the results from the COURAGE nuclear substudy in 314 patients who underwent serial testing for the purposes of defining the efficacy of randomized treatments for reducing ischemia. The results of this substudy reveal an advantage with PCI plus optimal medical therapy in terms of ischemia reduction when compared with optimal medical therapy alone. (Pubitemid 351365675)
