Although the current line of research focuses on marital violence initiated by men, it is clear that a great deal ofmarital violence is also initiated by women (e.g. Kwong, Bartholomew, & Dutton, 1999). Perhaps future research will reveal that the results discussed in this section may not be limited to aggressive men, butmay apply to aggressive women as well.
