In the presence of a three-particle interaction, triplon decay (in the sense of a finite lifetime) occurs in second-order perturbation theory only if the single-particle branch lies inside the two-particle continuum. Although this condition is, strictly speaking, not fulfilled at the QCP of class-B models, where the single-particle branch coincides with the bottom of the two-particle continuum near Q - = 0, the cubic term does play a nontrivial role in the critical theory, as demonstrated in the body of the paper.
