    • Commercially available Grubbs' first- and second-generation olefin metathesis catalysts were tested for ROMP of 2 and 3. Grubbs' first-generation catalyst was found to be the best catalyst of the two for this system. Other ROMP catalysts such as Grubbs' third-generation catalyst were not tested for this initial proof-of-concept study because they are not commercially available, but they will be tested in follow-up studies.
