The seven committees for which sufficiently complete records exist are Committee for Advance of Money, Sequestration Committee, Committee for Plundered Ministers, Committee for Compounding with Delinquents, Committee for Both Kingdoms, Committee for Indemnity, and Committee for Sale of Fee-farm Rents or Crown Lands.
11. Commons Journals, 11, 375 (13 Jan. 1642). In keeping with the standard practice of appointing large committees, 38 M Ps were ultimately named to the committee. Also, as usual, any three could conduct committee business. Unfortunately, it seems impossible to determine who actually sat for the committee, except for its chairman Lawrence Whitacre, member for Okehampton, Devon who later was to become chairman of the Committee for Examinations.
