In 2009, the Ontario Ministry of Culture launched the Creative Community Prosperity Fund, a $9 million funding program to support the implementation of cultural mapping and municipal cultural planning across Ontario.Another signal of the importance of MCP in the province is the formation of Municipal Cultural Planning Incorporated (formerly the Municipal Cultural Planning Partnership), a broad coalition of seven provincial ministries, provincial government agencies, municipalities, cultural service organizations, post-secondary institutions and others dedicated to advancing MCP across the province.
