Here, we have defined the lateral dot width as the island width measured at half of the island height. This width is more easily accessible than the dot base width since the island base edges cannot be resolved precisely. In addition, because in the AFM images the islands are broadened to the AFM ticonvolution, was subtracted a constant tibroadening contribution of 100 Å (=AFM tiradius) from the measured values
