    • The work in this paper is concerned with remote diastereoselectivity in reactions of allylstannanes and aldehydes. From this point of view, the optical purities of the allylstannanes are of no consequence. However, the optical purities of the starting materials and products are important when the stereoselectivity is being established either by ozonolysis or by the use of acetyl mandelates
