    • We checked living character of the polymerization. Detailed experiments of the polymerization, including plots of molecular weight of the polymer vs monomer conversion, indicated linear increase of the molecular weight. However, the GPC measurement of the growing polymer suggested formation of a minor fraction at high molecular weight side and low stability of the growing end during the polymerization. Based on the latter experimental results, we concluded that the reaction did not fall into category of living polymerization
