21. The sample angle α is the angle between the incident beam and the plane of the sample slab, 0°≤ α ≤ 180°. For α = 45°, the 90° scattering is in reflection geometry, for α = 135°, the 90° scattering is in transmission geometry. For α = 0°, the sample plane would be parallel to the incident beam.
