    • 2. For many reasons, both estimates must be regarded as tentative
    • The trans-reflectance spectra of devices 760A and 804A were measured under open-circuit conditions. The reflected intensities were normalized at 595 nm, where neither NPB+ nor TAPC+ absorbs strongly, and the two spectra were subtracted to obtain a crude difference spectrum. It suggests that NPB+ absorbs about 0.2% of the light at 500 nm and the TAPC+ absorbs about 0.36% at 700 nm. The respective extinction coefficients are 28 00039 and 42 00036 l /mol cm. Taking account the distribution of angles, the path of the light is 2.5 times that of a single pass perpendicular to the device plane. These data suggest that the number of cations at the interface is about 8×1012 /cm2, in good agreement with the estimate in the text, 7.7×1013 /cm2. For many reasons, both estimates must be regarded as tentative.
