    • Trial steps toward the current system included the creation of Rb87 BECs in an optically plugged quadrupole trap [26], a hybrid magnetic and optical trap [27], a time-averaged orbiting potential trap [28], directly in the QUIC trap, as well as in the CDT after loading directly from the quadrupole trap. We found the QUIC trap to be most effective for sympathetic cooling of K39.
