EM is evaluated at times t=-∞ and t=∞, which correspond to times when the position of the electron is infinitely far from the evaluation region V contained by the surface S, thus the electromagnetic field inside the volume V is negligible.

In the numerical evaluation of the surface integral a spherical grid surrounding the spherical particle is used with a large number of grid points to obtain convergence. The radius of the spherical grid was around one hundredth larger than the radius of the metallic particle. The final results of the surface integral show a no dependence on the radius of the spherical grid.
