19. Only the lowest M eigenvalues are kept at each iteration to prevent the Hilbert space from growing exponentially with increasing N. We take M = 3500 (only counting those states that are not related to others by symmetry so that we are really considering more than 3500 states as described in Ref.) and find that our results do not change if more states are kept.
